NetEnt AB has been forced to pull its brand new video slot due to technical problems.

Street Fighter II: The World Warrior Slot has now been taken out of circulation just a week after its launch..

The brand new game was quickly retracted and is no longer available on VideoSlots.com, 888Casino.com, or Betsson.com.

NetEnt AB was quick to say it had ‘identified a potential situation where player staking behaviour could impact the gameplay experience intended.’

It is believed the way players were betting or how they changed their wagers was making it easier to trigger certain gaming features. In this case, players would have found it easy to manipulate the outcome of the game, making it easier to learn how to win slots.

A leaked internal email from NetEnt’s Head of Communication Victor Melander read: “We have identified a potential situation whereby player staking behavior could impact the intended gameplay experience on our recent release Street Fighter™️ II: The World Warrior Slot.

“Please be assured that to date the game has been performing within the expected parameters in respect to the certified math model and RTP on a network level.”

Melander added the game had been temporarily disabled, and teams had already identified a fix to prevent the winning odds from being tipped.

At the time of writing, a demo of the slot machine is still available to play on the NetEnt website.

The online slot game had reportedly been working well on a network level before launch, and had not reported an unusual amount of big slot wins.

A statement from NetEnt read: “Once this game is certified by our test house, we will make it available to you. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused and rest assured that we are working hard to get this game back up and running for you as soon as possible.”

The new slot game was highly anticipated within the gaming industry. A description of the slot on the NetEnt site reads: “We’re taking you back to 1991 with this one. For some of you it’ll seem like only yesterday. For others, you might not even have been born! But all of you will love the feel of this slot, which is based on what is arguably the greatest fighting game of all time.”

The modern day, five-reel video slot was premiered on May 21 throughout the Stockholm-headquartered company’s operators.

Slot enthusiasts across CasinoEuro, Betsafe, and CasinoWinner were given access before anyone else between May 19 and 25.

The game features 5×5 reels, free spins, multiple gamification features and cluster pays, as well as a hidden bonus game re-enacting some of the old-school arcade game from back in the day.

It’s loaded with Wilds – each high-value symbol in a winning combo gives the player one point. Collect seven or more to trigger the Wild Combo feature which randomly places Wild symbols on the reels.

Street Fighter II is supposedly just like playing a Vegas slot game, but from the comfort of your own home. Right after its launch, the slot game reached the top of PokerNews’ list of the best new slots to play online.

The game plays out in battles and different fighters have different active effects on the reels to change players’ chances of winning.

Some fights have a higher chance of smaller wins, while others are targeted at players who want a smaller chance of bigger wins.

The very first Street Fighter game was released as an arcade game back in 1987.
